All Elle wants is to disappear into anonymity again, but the panty-melting billionaire who kidnaps her isn’t about to let that happen.

On the society pages, smoking hot financier Dominick Rasmussen is one of the world’s most eligible bachelors, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. As a secret resistance fighter, his one goal is to get Princess Eloise on the throne and restore the monarchy. The biggest problem? His stubborn and sexy undercover princess has no interest in ever wearing a tiara again.

Their goals couldn’t be more opposed, but neither Dom nor Elle can deny the attraction bringing them closer together. As the stakes rise and danger increases, they are forced to choose between love and country…

My Rating:
Heat Rating:
I received a digital ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.com for an honest, unbiased review. This in no way influenced my review. My opinion is my 100% own.

Who doesn't love a story about a princess and a commoner?

This story offers a sexy and suspenseful take on that trope, with a princess who is rough around the edges and can hold her own. Elle is spunky and strong, and meets her match in the stubbornness department in Dom. The two of them start pushing each other's buttons from basically the beginning of the book and it just ramps up from there.

There is a good amount of suspense and intrigue in this, and the story is not necessarily the most original or deep, but still a lot of fun to watch unfold. There are some sweet moments between Elle and her, ahem, countrymen, and the world of Elskov, the small Nordic island country is well-described. The tone of this story was perfect for its setting.

The romance felt a bit disconnected from the InstaLust, but it didn't bother me. Especially since the drama is light between the characters and focused primarily on the political aspects. It was even during the craziest action scene that I was sold on the two characters being meant to be.

Overall, this gave exactly as promised - an entertaining and sexy story of a hunted princess and a militant Resistance fighter. It's Han Solo & Princess Leia, but without the spaceships and aliens and A WHOLE LOT HOTTER!
