Description from Publisher:
True love can’t be strategized.

After book blogger Vivian Galdi’s longtime crush pretends their secret summer kissing sessions never happened, Vivian creates a list of safe crushes, determined to protect her heart.

But nerd-hot Dallas, the sweet new guy in town, sends the mission and Vivian’s zing meter into chaos. While designing software for the bookstore where Vivian works, Dallas wages a counter-mission.

Operation Replacement Crush is in full effect. And Dallas is determined to take her heart off the shelf.

Musings:
I just may need to finally watch Star Trek: Next Generation. :)

There was a really fun vibe throughout this entire story that I just adored. We have Vivian, bookworm, blogger, romance lover... And used and tossed by a jerk at school, making her question her decisions and wanting a less-complicated and less-heartbreaking crush. And we have Dallas, the hot nerd who keeps showing up when Vivian least expects (or desires) him to.

The chemistry between Vivian and Dallas was great and this really felt age appropriate. I could obviously relate to Romance loving blogger Viv, and really enjoyed the book club discussions. Vivian's relationship with her mom made me think of Lorelei and Rory's relationship on Gilmore Girls (which is definitely a plus - I love that mother-daughter dynamic!). There was a lot to enjoy with this book and I very thoroughly did.

The playfulness was a lot of fun and the little mysteries were as well.

The nerd references were just awesome. I am not a Trekkie (Yet?), but really dug the references and the way it was blended into the story. I think even non-nerds will smile at it all.

Can we also talk about that kiss? Yeah, it "burned my kindle". ;)

I received a digital ARC from the publisher for an honest, unbiased review. This in no way influenced my review. My opinion is my 100% own.

About Lisa Brown Robert
Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life's painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way.
